Game Fair 2023

Following the success in 2022, Town & Country Dog Training joined The Game Fair at Ragley Hall again in 2023. We were part of The Pet Gundog stand who represents all Accredited Pet Gundog Instructors (APGI) in the UK.

Like in the previous year, our stand was right next to Skinners pet food overlooking the Gundog Display ring. We had a steady stream of visitors and lots of interesting conversations around owning a gundog breed and how to best go about training it. On the Friday a group of instructors including myself went into the display ring for a 30min demonstration with our dogs.

All went well and the spectators were truly impressed with how immaculate our dogs behaved. After this showcase our stand was busier than ever before. Aside from ourselves as the instructors, Lez Graham was present most of the time talking about her books ‘Manners not Mayhem’, ‘The Pet Gundog Puppy’, ‘The Pet Gundog’ and ‘The Advanced Pet Gundog’. All books were available to purchase on the days as well as ‘The Lez Graham Retrieving Roll’ a nifty little tool to teach reluctant retrievers the joys of retrieving.

Gundog breeds are some of the most popular amongst pets. It is important to teach owners, and many are first time dog owners, how these dogs learn, and how to keep them happy to become the companion people are looking for in the first place, Despite being a pet, living indoors, these dogs are more than able to join competitions and work in the field all given they are train well and appropriate.

Our training courses are tailored to Pet Gundog training and we help and instruct owners from puppy to advanced to teach their dogs the neccessary skills.

In the meantime Town and Country Dog Training is already busy preparing for the Game Fair in 2024 which will take place from 26th to the 28th of July at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.
